Caerphilly born and Cardiff raised artist Geraint Ross Evans graduated from Swansea Metropolitan University in 2009. Since then he has been closely involved with Cardiff’s vibrant art scene most notably with the former TactileBosch gallery and studios in Llandaff North. Having exhibited widely in group shows in the UK and abroad, his first solo exhibition ‘Landscape of First World Problems’ toured from Oriel Q in Narberth to ArcadeCardiff in 2014.
That same year, Geraint relocated to London where he won a place to study at The Royal Drawing School on The Drawing Year.
Upon graduation in 2015 Geraint was awarded the Drawing Year Director’s Prize.
His recent work explores edgelands and celebrates the sensations and memories conjured by these landscapes. His practice often combines artistic disciplines, exploring formal elements of space described on a 2d surface through drawing and painting, three dimensionally through installation and more recently with the use of soundscapes.
His second body of work was exhibited in a major solo exhibition entitled 'Edgeland' at Penarth Pier Pavilion back in Wales in 2016.
Shortly after, Geraint was awarded the Richard Ford Award which allowed him to travel to Madrid to study the paintings at the Prado Museum.
He continues to live, work and teach in London
